    Comment on the significance of the title Winter Birds. Sometimes the viewpoint character (the one through whose eyes we see the story) is the same as the focal character (the one who most clearly illustrates the theme of the story), but sometimes they are two different characters. In Winter Birds, Sophie is the viewpoint Size: 42KB. Well – another season of “official” winter birding (Dec 1 – Feb 29) has ended, and another Newfoundland winter bird list is complete.
